Due to the superior quality of our ropes, we recommend you do not boil, bake, steam, machine wash, etc. as this will compromise the integrity of the natural fibre.

We also do not advise the technique of ‘breaking-in’ by aggressively rubbing the rope against hard surfaces (eg. karabiners).

As with all jute fibre there is a certain amount of hair.

We recommend you finish the rope by roughly coating the outside with a mix of 4 parts 100% cold-pressed jojoba oil (simmondsia chinensis) to 1 part 100% beeswax, using about the size of a hazelnut for each 8m length, and simply tumble dry until satisfied, removing the jute dust after each cycle from the filter.
